The Hexagonal chamber and the Athanor drawing series were exhibited together in 2009 for an open studio event in Calgary Alberta. This wooden chamber was lined with mirrors on the inside and trampoline legs were attached to prop it up. A lazy-suzan enabled one to stand and spin, observing their upper body with the mirrors on the inside of the chamber. Spinning offered disorientation and an altered perception that inspired the six the drawings. In alchemical literature the Athanor is a kind of furnace within which energy transforms base material into subtler forms over a period of time.
